These Affiliate Terms and Conditions ("Affiliate Terms") govern participation in the Cogniself affiliate program. They apply to anyone who applies for, is approved for, or uses a Cogniself affiliate link, referral link, coupon code, discount code, tracking link, creator dashboard, or payout feature.
By applying for affiliate access, accepting these Affiliate Terms, using an affiliate link or code, or receiving any affiliate commission, you agree to these Affiliate Terms, the Cogniself Terms and Conditions, and the Cogniself Privacy Policy. If Cogniself assigns written custom terms to an affiliate, those written custom terms control only where they conflict with these default Affiliate Terms.
These Affiliate Terms are intended to describe the current default program. Cogniself may approve, reject, pause, remove, or change affiliate access when needed to protect customers, creators, Cogniself, payment systems, legal compliance, product integrity, or brand trust.
1. Program Approval and Status
Affiliate access is not automatic. Cogniself reviews affiliate applications before issuing links, codes, dashboard access, or payout access. Cogniself may request additional information, reject an application, approve an affiliate with custom terms, pause an affiliate account, disable a code, or terminate affiliate participation at any time.
An affiliate must keep application, contact, tax, payout, website, and social-channel information accurate. Cogniself may withhold payout or pause access until required information is provided.
Affiliate participation is available only for approved promotional activity. Approval to participate is not an endorsement, employment relationship, agency relationship, franchise, partnership, joint venture, or authority to represent Cogniself.
2. Default Affiliate Economics
The default launch setup is a 25% customer discount and 20% creator commission on eligible net paid product revenue, unless Cogniself assigns different terms in writing.
| Eligible product | Audience offer | Creator commission | Commission window |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-time consumer products, including Advanced Personality Report, specialist reports, Relationship Report, and Delta | 25% off eligible checkout | 20% of net paid product revenue | One-time commission on successful payment |
| Growth Loop monthly subscription | 25% off the first 3 paid months | 20% of each successful paid invoice | First 6 paid months only |
| Growth Loop annual subscription, when enabled for affiliate promotion | 25% off the first paid year | 20% of the net paid first-year invoice | First paid year only |
| Token packs | Not included by default | Custom terms only | Only when assigned by Cogniself |
| Cogniself Pro, team, recruitment, enterprise, or B2B deals | Separate partner or sales agreement | Custom terms only | Only when assigned by Cogniself |
"Net paid product revenue" means the product amount Cogniself actually receives and retains after the customer discount is applied. It excludes taxes, VAT, duties, payment processor fees if Cogniself chooses to exclude them, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, failed payments, free credits, trial periods, gift credits, manual adjustments, amounts not collected, and amounts Cogniself is not able to retain.
Commission is calculated on the amount the customer actually pays after the discount, not on the undiscounted list price.
3. Growth Loop Subscription Rules
Growth Loop subscription commissions are designed to be attractive to creators while staying sustainable for Cogniself. The default subscription commission is recurring for the first 6 paid months only.
| Subscription event | Commission result |
|---|---|
| Customer starts Growth Loop with a valid affiliate code or tracked link | Creator earns 20% on successful paid invoices for the first 6 paid months. |
| Customer receives the 25% intro discount | The discount applies to the first 3 paid months. Commission is calculated on what the customer actually pays. |
| Month 7 and later | No further subscription commission is due unless Cogniself assigned custom terms in writing. |
| Customer cancels, pauses, downgrades, upgrades, or payment fails | Commission follows the successful paid invoice amount during the first 6 paid months. Unpaid periods generate no commission. |
| Invoice is refunded, disputed, charged back, voided, free, or part of a trial | No commission is earned, and any previously recorded commission may be voided, reversed, or deducted from future payout. |
| Automated subscription tracking is temporarily unavailable | Cogniself may reconcile eligible subscription commissions manually from Stripe records or internal payment records. |
The 6-month subscription commission window is counted by successful paid invoices, not by calendar months where no payment was collected. Cogniself may cap, adjust, or manually reconcile commissions where Stripe records, affiliate records, coupons, customer accounts, or subscription records do not match.
4. Attribution, Holds, and Payouts
| Rule | Default term |
|---|---|
| Attribution window | 60 days from a valid affiliate link click, affiliate code capture, or other Cogniself-recognized tracking event. |
| Attribution priority | A valid affiliate code used at checkout takes priority. If multiple creators are involved, Cogniself may use last valid affiliate touch unless custom terms apply. |
| Commission hold | 60 days after successful payment for refund, dispute, chargeback, fraud, and eligibility protection. |
| Payout threshold | $25 in unlocked eligible commission before self-service payout is available. |
| Payout cadence | Monthly or self-service when available, after the commission hold and payout threshold are met. |
| Payout method | Supported payout providers may include Tremendous, PayPal, manual payout, Stripe-supported payout tooling, or another provider Cogniself enables for the affiliate account. |
| Payout currency | Cogniself may calculate and pay in USD or another supported currency. Currency conversion, provider limits, and payout fees may affect the amount received. |
| Tax and identity checks | Cogniself may require tax forms, identity information, payout verification, or compliance documentation before payment. |
Commission shown in a dashboard is informational until it becomes unlocked and payout-ready. Cogniself may correct dashboard records, reverse ineligible commission, delay payout during a review, or deduct reversed amounts from future payouts.
5. Eligible and Ineligible Commissions
Eligible commission requires all of the following:
- The affiliate is approved and in good standing.
- The customer purchase is properly attributed to a valid affiliate link, code, or Cogniself-recognized tracking event.
- The purchase is for an eligible product.
- The payment succeeds and Cogniself receives and retains the revenue.
- The purchase survives the 60-day protection hold.
- The affiliate has complied with these Affiliate Terms and any written Cogniself instructions.
Commissions may be voided, reversed, withheld, or deemed ineligible for any of the following:
- Refunds, disputes, chargebacks, failed payments, voided invoices, fraud flags, or suspected abuse.
- Self-referrals, purchases by the affiliate for the purpose of earning commission, or purchases by closely related accounts created mainly to generate commission.
- Misleading claims, spam, deceptive redirects, unauthorized coupon distribution, fake scarcity, fake endorsements, or promotion that misrepresents Cogniself.
- Paid search bidding, search ads, domain names, social handles, or ad copy that target Cogniself brand terms without written permission.
- Cookie stuffing, forced clicks, hidden redirects, browser extensions, unauthorized coupon sites, incentive abuse, or technical manipulation.
- Any promotion that violates law, platform rules, advertising rules, payment processor rules, or Cogniself policy.
6. Affiliate Responsibilities
Affiliates must promote Cogniself accurately, responsibly, and transparently.
Affiliates must:
- Clearly disclose that they may earn commission when someone buys through their link or code.
- Use only accurate promotional claims, screenshots, product descriptions, offers, and discount language.
- Make clear that Cogniself is a self-understanding, coaching, report, and growth-support product.
- Avoid implying that Cogniself provides medical diagnosis, therapy, emergency help, legal advice, financial advice, hiring decisions, or guaranteed outcomes.
- Follow applicable advertising, consumer protection, privacy, email, influencer disclosure, platform, and tax rules.
- Stop or correct any promotion if Cogniself requests it.
Affiliates must not:
- Promise personality change, clinical diagnosis, treatment, employment outcomes, relationship outcomes, crisis support, or guaranteed personal results.
- Present Cogniself as a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or employment advice.
- Use spam, unsolicited messages, misleading subject lines, deceptive funnels, fake testimonials, undisclosed paid endorsements, or fabricated customer stories.
- Use Cogniself trademarks, logos, screenshots, reports, or product visuals in a confusing, misleading, defamatory, offensive, illegal, or unauthorized way.
- Make final hiring, rejection, promotion, diagnosis, or protected-class claims based on Cogniself outputs.
7. Brand, Content, and Intellectual Property
Cogniself grants approved affiliates a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use approved Cogniself links, codes, names, marks, screenshots, and promotional assets only for approved affiliate promotion.
Affiliates may not register domains, accounts, apps, ads, usernames, search keywords, or social handles that impersonate Cogniself or create confusion about whether the affiliate is Cogniself. Cogniself may require affiliates to remove, edit, transfer, or stop using content, links, assets, channels, claims, or campaigns that Cogniself considers inaccurate, unsafe, infringing, confusing, or harmful.
Affiliates own their own original content, but Cogniself may use affiliate-provided application information, public promotional content, affiliate name, channel name, handles, links, and campaign records to operate, review, audit, and improve the affiliate program.
8. Affiliate Privacy and Data
Cogniself collects and processes affiliate information to operate the affiliate program. This may include:
- Creator or business name, contact email, website, social channel, audience description, country, and payout email.
- Application status, review notes, affiliate codes, tracking links, click events, conversion records, commission records, payout records, and support records.
- Tax forms, identity verification, payout-provider information, fraud-prevention information, compliance records, and payment records when required.
- Technical information such as device, browser, IP address, cookies, timestamps, referral parameters, and attribution events.
Cogniself uses this information to review applications, issue links and codes, attribute purchases, calculate commission, prevent fraud, process payouts, meet legal and tax obligations, provide support, improve the program, and enforce these Affiliate Terms.
Cogniself may share affiliate information with service providers that help operate the program, such as payment processors, payout providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, email providers, database providers, tax or compliance providers, and professional advisors. Cogniself may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, fraud prevention, payment processor rules, or to protect rights, safety, customers, affiliates, and Cogniself.
Cogniself does not give affiliates customer personal data beyond the dashboard and reporting information needed to understand attributed conversions, commission status, and payout status. Affiliates must not attempt to identify, contact, profile, export, scrape, or misuse Cogniself customers unless the customer separately gave the affiliate permission outside Cogniself.
Affiliate information is retained as long as needed to operate the program, resolve disputes, satisfy accounting, tax, legal, security, and compliance obligations, and enforce these Affiliate Terms. Privacy rights and contact details are described in the Cogniself Privacy Policy.
9. Taxes, Payout Documentation, and Local Compliance
Affiliates are responsible for their own taxes, filings, registrations, disclosures, permits, and local compliance obligations. Cogniself may require tax forms, payout-provider onboarding, identity checks, or other documentation before releasing payout. If required documentation is not provided, Cogniself may delay, withhold, or cancel payout where allowed by law.
Affiliates are independent contractors for affiliate-program purposes. Nothing in these Affiliate Terms creates an employment relationship, agency, partnership, joint venture, franchise, fiduciary relationship, or authority to bind Cogniself.
Affiliates are not entitled to employee benefits, expense reimbursement, minimum payment, exclusivity, or guaranteed earnings.
10. Program Changes, Suspension, and Termination
Cogniself may change future affiliate rates, discount levels, eligible products, attribution rules, hold periods, payout methods, payout thresholds, dashboards, reporting, tracking, or program availability. Changes generally apply prospectively unless Cogniself needs to address fraud, abuse, refunds, disputes, legal compliance, payment processor rules, security, or technical integrity.
Cogniself may suspend, restrict, or terminate affiliate participation if Cogniself believes an affiliate violated these Affiliate Terms, created legal or brand risk, harmed customers, misused tracking, generated low-quality or abusive traffic, failed verification, or otherwise made participation unsuitable.
After termination, the affiliate must stop using Cogniself affiliate links, codes, badges, promotional assets, and claims. Future commissions stop when affiliate access is terminated or disabled. Cogniself may still pay unlocked eligible commissions earned before termination unless those commissions are voided, reversed, withheld, or ineligible under these Affiliate Terms.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The affiliate program is provided as available. Cogniself does not guarantee affiliate access, tracking uptime, approval, conversion volume, earnings, payout timing, customer availability, product availability, continued discount levels, or continued program availability.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Cogniself is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, lost-profit, lost-revenue, lost-goodwill, lost-data, or business-interruption damages connected to the affiliate program.
Nothing in these Affiliate Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
